Mastering Your Camera In Only 4 Hours! - 9/18 & 9/25 6:30pm

Have you purchased a nice camera only to be let down by the quality of the images? Learn how to take your settings from AUTO to MANUAL and create beautiful images. Each student will be given hands-on instruction on how to use their specific camera by the teacher along with handouts. 2 classes.

The Art of Seeing Creatively - 10/9 6:30pm

Develop your creativity as a photograph and learn how to see more beauty in everyday objects and moments while enhancing their character with lighting, perspective and composition. Sharpen your skills in ISO, aperture, shutter speed, white balance and metering. Pre-requisite: Mastering Your Camera. 1 class.

Hands-On Photography Workshop - 10/27  8:00am

Take your camera mastery to another level by joining us on a walking photograph tour of Downtown Jenks. We will be putting to work the knowledge gained in the "Mastering Your Camera" course. Details focused on manual metering, framing subjects, window lighting and more. Prerequisite: Mastering Your Camera. Please bring your camera to class. We will meet in the parking lot of the Sooner Building located on the campus of Jenks High School at 1st and B Street. 1 class.

Posing for Individuals and Outdoor Lighting Portraiture - 11/3 8:00am

Students will learn the specifics on how to pose individual subjects such as high school seniors, business shots, headshots and more. The class will walk around downtown Jenks for some photography with models. Pre-requisite: Mastering Your Camera. Class meets in the Sooner Building parking lot at 1st and B Street, Jenks. 1 class.

How to Use Slow Shutter Speeds to Create Cool Effects - 10/30 7:00pm

This class is a creatively fun class using slow shutter speeds, low lighting, fairy lights, writing with flashlights in the night, and lighting steel wool to photograph the sparks! Get some very cool artistic images to check off your photography bucket list! Bring a tripod/monopod if you have one available. Class will walk to a few nearby locations in downtown Jenks. Pre-requisite:Good working knowledge of manual function on camera. 1 class.

Indoor Basic Studio Lighting - 11/6 6:30pm

Are you interested in learning studio photography lighting but have no idea where to start? This course will introduce the basics of studio lighting with a few different light sources as well as introduce basic techniques to get you started.  Enroll Here!

iPhone Photography Like A Pro 12/4 6:30pm

Don’t miss the opportunity to create beautiful images and memories with the camera in your pocket. Come and learn how to use your iPhone like a professional! Techniques, lighting, settings and apps will all be part of the discussion. Bring your iPhone with you to class. Courses are taught by Professional Photographer Holly Peevyhouse. 1 class.

Basic Lightroom Photo Editing 12/11 6:30pm

Are you new to photo editing? This class will be covering everything there is to know about bringing your images into Lightroom, how to save and organize files, edit photographs using the tools as well as the filters (presets), all about saving and using watermarks. This class is a must for anyone who is just starting out on their photo editing journey! Feel free to bring your laptop to class if you have previously purchased Lightroom and it's on your computer. 1 class.

 

 

 

 


ONLINE - 16 Week Fine Art Photography Course for High School Students  Sept 1 - Dec 31st, 2018

This course will start from the very basic step by step mechanics of a camera all the way up through editing your photographs. Built in a 16-week format, the students will become very educated in the process of photographing in manual mode, how to meter the light properly, composition, and so much more.

Most material will be presented in a video format for students to watch and learn. From there assignments will be given. Most weeks will take less than an hour for video and assignments. Near the end of the semester it will require a bit more effort but all in all it will be a very informative class with fun assignments!

Week 1: Cameras, how they work, and what to look for when you are purchasing one!

Week 2: Lenses and how they work and what to look for when you are purchasing one!

Week 3: Basic Camera Menu Functions, memory cards and how to download to computer

Week 4: Mega pixels, optical vs. digital zoom and how to use them for your advantage

Week 5: Auto Modes, what they do and why you don't want to use them

Week 6: Photography is "light drawing" - Intro to the exposure triangle, choosing focus points, and how to focus off center.

Week 7: ISO What is it, how to use it and why you would want to change it

Week 8: Aperture!!! (this is where it starts getting FUN!!!)

Week 9: Shutter Speed

Week 10: Introduction to the Light meter and how to use it!

Week 11: White Balance

Week 12: Composition

Week 13: Lighting, indoor and outdoor photography

Week 14: Lightroom - Editing Course

Week 15: Where to Share images, print images and save images

Week 16: Final Thoughts - where to go from here

The hand's on class would be mostly videos to watch and then going and doing the type of photography technique you learned. There will be no quizzes, only homework from the photography lessons. The lessons will be based on 16 different photography styles and techniques. Every 4 weeks I will offer to meet in person to do the photo shoot together so that you can get even more hands on training with me! If you are in the Tulsa Metro area, this is AWESOME. All of my students this past semester have agreed that these hands on classes are so very worth it and a ton of fun!!

ONLINE COURSE - Lightroom For Beginners  Video Based/ Self Paced Course

Lightroom Photo Editing for Beginners is an online photography class with Holly Peevyhouse. This online class will be covering everything there is to know about bringing your images into Lightroom, how to save and organize files, edit photographs using the tools as well as the filters (presets), all about saving and using watermarks. This class is a must for anyone who is just starting out on their photo editing journey! A computer with internet access is required. The online link will be emailed to students by the instructor the day before class starts

Photography Mentoring

 

Mentoring people in photography is one of my absolute passions.  I do offer one-on-one training to individuals who learn better in a quiet environment, by themselves rather than a large group or classroom setting.  I am happy to schedule a consultation to talk with you more and see if this is the best course of learning for you!

WHAT TO EXPECT

Schedule Your Own Group Classes

Invite your friends to learn with you! Great for a couples or ladies night, youth group, Ladies Class and other group gatherings. These classes are a group environment with anywhere from 10-25 students.  Classes are from the very beginner novice to the advanced ameture.  My goal in teaching my students is to give very basic step-by-step instructions that anyone with a camera in their hand can follow and begin to take amazing pictures that tell their story.  Most classes are held in the Jenks, OK or surrounding Tulsa County.

WHAT TO EXPECT

  • I will provide a hands-on learning environment at your location for approximately 3 hours.
  • Printed handouts and one-on-one attention will be provided to each student and their personal camera.
  • Up-close and personal time with me to ask questions.

  • Cost $45-95 per student with 25 student maximum.

In-Home Group Classes

This is one of the most fun and enjoyable things you can do with a group of friends!  It is a wonderful idea for adult gathering with some finger foods and wine or simply a birthday party for a group of teens!  Either way the time spent will be educational and FUN! I teach anywhere from the basic iPhone class all the way up to Advanced Photography Classes in homes to all ages!

  • I will provide a hands-on learning environment at your location for approximately 3-4 hours.
  • Printed handouts and one-on-one attention will be provided to each student and their personal camera.
  • Up-close and personal time with me to ask questions.

Corporate Group Classes

Teaching corporate groups basic photography skills is the next best thing in social media marketing.  I join with your company to teach your employees how to photograph with excellent skills as to help create a brand following to excite your tribe of followers.  I am able to travel anywhere in Tulsa County and surrounding cities: Jenks, Bixby, Glenpool, Broken Arrow and Tulsa.  I am also available on a larger scale of travel with advanced notice.
