Two Of My Roadtrip Fears Happened!

Once again can I just tell you that I'm SO thankful we "ran the marathon" on the front end of our road trip rather than the latter end.

We.

Are.

Exhausted.

The END!!!! And we are still smiling!!!

It was SO much better than I would have dreamed!!

Fears Faced

If you remember we took a rest day on Wednesday and towards the end of the day we realized Eden was running fever. No other symptoms really, just exhaustion and fever. So we got out my trusty DoTERRA essential oils and I oiled her up along with everyone else just in case.

Then at approximately 4:45 am Rosi woke up with tummy issues.  So I oiled her up as well and gave her a dose of Activated Charcoal and some PHhour Salts to calm her belly and she and I went back to sleep in camp chairs so as to not disturb our other sleepers. We got some crazy looks from other residents as they rode their bikes early in the morning.

 Poor girl...

We believe both events were completely related to diet, dehydration and exhaustion. We generally eat pretty well. The day's previous to our rest day, we over indulged with ice cream and more sweet treats than typical. When bodies are over indulged (like the standard American diet), going off the wagon like we did can cause our bodies to go into these types of reactions in order to help "take out the trash".  I will often see people who take a family vacation to Disney who have a little one who goes down with "illness" for a day thinking that they picked up a germ from the park when in all reality it is simply our bodies reacting to too much of indulgence. Everyone woke up much better with only one small incident where Rosi had to throw out a pair of shorts and underwear! Lol!

So vomit and fever were two of the things that I feared happening in close quarters of the pop-up. They both happened with in 12 hours of each other and we survived!!!

Hakuna Matata

We hit Animal Kingdom and Universal Studios on Wednesday and Thursday.

Animal Kingdom was fun but possibly our least favorite when it came to the parks we  visited. However, the kids and Clay got great pleasure from getting me on the Rapids ride (one of the feared rides of my childhood) where I got DRENCHED!!! It was a blast and I was still dripping water 2 hours later!

Universal Studios was on our list simply because we have a HUGE Harry Potter fan in our house. Payton has been ogling over HP for years and it's her birthday month, so why not?!?!

Universal did an amazing job on their Harry Potter Diagon Alley, as we were highly impressed with the details of it all! Everything else we saw there was simply icing on the cake!

Packing Up

So we packed up from our precious retirement community today with plenty of well wishes, comments from the neighbors of how sweet, very quiet and kind our kiddos were!

Who knew it would take nearly 4 hours to reorganize, repack and reload this family of six?!?! Including chasing a few lizards out of our camper that apparently may or may not have been sleeping with us.

Headed towards, Amelia Island, FL to spend a few nights with some friends on the beach!!!

Review:

Good: Packing up for a slower paced week ahead, we are all still smiling, feet hurting from SO much fun! Surviving a few of my travel fears of kids with fever and tummy troubles while in a pop-up.

 Beautiful store front in Universal.

Bad: Rosi being down a pair of shorts and underwear when you only brought 3 pair to begin with!

Awesome: Crossing off a huge bucket list item for our kids and creating some fun memories as well! Deciding we are going to be super welcoming old people in a retirement community one day!
