My kids can't hardly walk around a block before they begin to complain about being tired or their feet hurting. So for years now when they have started complaining we have responded with a semi cynical, "You've got some work to do if you have big plans to go to Disneyworld someday".
So to say Clay and I were shocked at how amazingly jovial and compliant they were all day is an understatement.
We got to meet my favorite princess right off the bat! However after that, we quickly assessed the whole group and decided that we would rather not spend our day waiting in line to meet characters. So when we would see them this is how we would get our photo taken with them!
It was truly magical! We loved every moment, and I rode every ride everyone else rode (except one because Eden was DONE). To say I rode every ride with them is a big deal because this Momma doesn't do rides really ever! Unfortunately I had a babysitter back in the day that forced me to ride some big rides much too early and a traumatic experience on a Tilt-a-Whirl with a guy puking (yea it was awful, just imagine that one) that has ruined me on rides! But Disney does well on this one, I never felt fear or trauma rising up yesterday, only joy with my family!
It was so good to see my sweet Clay be completely in the moment with everyone, no worries only happiness! At one point as Colin leaned over for a hug and "I love you Mom", he also said to me, "I hope Daddy will lose his job more often if this is what we get to do and how he acts!" Ha!
So today we are letting everyone sleep in and then making our way to Hollywood Studios in hopes that they are rejuvenated and legs recovered.
Good: Nobody begged for anything(other than their beds at the end of the night) everyone was compliant.
Bad: I had read a tip about parking free at Disney Springs and riding a bus to Magic Kingdom to save us $20 in parking fees (Hey $20 is a a tank of gas when you don't have a job!) So we did just that...it was NOT fun and LONG. On the way there it was not terrible but the way back we were on a bus close to 1.5 hours dropping off people at their hotels on the way back. Guess who will be paying $20 for parking today!
Awesome: It was a Magical to say the least, one for the memory books, heaven like. And we get to do it all over again!!!
I want to say thank you to those of you who are cheering us on in this adventure!!! We love your love!
Love, Grace, and Peace,
Holly, Clay and Clan
