Craig, Savanna and McClain.
This little one has such a special place in my heart. Her parents were part of changing my world, and I am just sure she is a world changer as well. So to get the chance to spend the morning with them telling their story was nothing short of pure blessing.
Only 24 Frames.
If you have ever been a student in one of my photography courses you will hear me say I firmly believe the photography world is mass producing Photoshop and Post-production artist, but not many being trained as true photographers.
Often, my sweet husband will go on a diatribe about how I am a true craftsman with my photography, that I honestly know what I am doing in my art. Many years on a beautiful Hasselblad camera with all manual exposure, manual focus, on a heavy tripod, and only 24 frames to shoot. That's all you got...24 frames. Film was expensive, and processing the film was even more expensive, so it was a rare occasion I would pop in one more roll of 12 frames for you.
In the midst of Clay's latest diatribe on my unique "old school" craftsman ways, it clicked...24 FRAMES!!!! That would be the challenge and the JOY of telling people's stories. Digital photography has made me lazy in some ways, I snap hundreds of images at each session, yet have the skills to photograph only a few. That night many thoughts were born out of my husband's admiration for me, one of them was that I would be telling people's story with 24 FRAMES.
It scares me...could I do it? Would clients be upset they were no longer going to get 100+ images? And when I let go of the fear...it was freeing. In a world of TOO MUCH of everything minimalism is on the rise. What if only having 24 frames actually cut down the anxiety of choosing, of deciding, and mulling over which of the 100 images you were going to choose.
(On a sidenote, after presenting Savanna with her 24 Frames, she still came back to me and said, "I have not a clue which ones to share, because I love them all, each for different reasons, but I love them ALL".)
There is some exciting stuff about to happen here in our world, God is shaking it up. I cannot wait to tell you more, but in the mean time I am giving $100 off any of my packages between now and March 8th when you schedule anytime in 2016!
What Kind of Moments are you unwilling to forget?
Seriously, life is like a vapor and there is hardly a day where something doesn't happen to where it takes my breath away and I say "I don't ever want to forget this!" So whether it is that you want me to photograph your moment or learn to photograph your own. My mission is to get you to stop and take in the beautiful moments.
Any as always I would love your feedback here on the blog!
Love, Grace and Peace!
P.S. There are not all 24 Frames here, some of them were removed in order to keep the modesty of McClain.
